Facility Rental Manager

About Us

 

St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church is a National Historic Site located in the heart of downtown Hamilton, a neighbourhood undergoing an exciting cultural renaissance.

 

As part of an innovative Community Repurposing Project St. Paul’s congregation aims to transform the building into a shared community asset that reaches beyond its traditional role as a place of worship. New and growing opportunities for renting have convinced us to create a new position of Facility Rental Manager to oversee the rental of the facilities to events and other potential tenants.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for an out-going, self-starter looking to apply their skills, work independently, develop their leadership, and leave their mark on an important Hamilton site. No religious affiliation is required.  

 

Responsibilities

  1. Market the availability of various St. Paul’s facilities, including proactively pursuing rental opportunities, developing promotional material and an online presence, networking to maintain current and discover new contacts in the community and municipal government

  2. Schedule and coordinate the use of facilities by both the congregation and outside tenants and space-users

  3. Liaise with renters, including responding to rental enquiries, approving rental requests, securing rental contracts, and negotiating the prices and conditions of renting when required

  4. Manage logistics required for an event, including opening or closing the building, and set up and tear down.

  5. Be present when needed to manage and monitor the use of the facility to provide on-site support

  6. Work closely and coordinate with the church Custodian, Office Administrator, and recruit and supervise volunteers when needed

 

Qualifications

  • Degree and/or college diploma in events or facilities management, or equivalent experience

  • Proficient in MS Office and social media tools

 

Working hours

 

Full-time, thirty-five hours a week. Candidates must be available to work evenings and weekends when necessary.

 

Job Type

 

Eight-month contract with the possibility of renewal

Salary

$3000 per month
