EMERGENCY APPEALS

The people of St. Paul’s join all nations in prayer and financial support to bring hope and relief to the many people of this world who have suffered from devastating earthquakes, floods and famine that have taken place this year. The Presbyterian World Service & Development is a relief agency of The Presbyterian Church in Canada who respond to these emergency needs around the world to bring relief and emotional support to those in most need. Congregations and individuals are encouraged to bring help to these situations by making a donation to the Presbyterian World Service and Development. Donations may be made on-line, by telephone, by mail or through St. Paul’s. To read more and make an on-line donation, check this link: http://www.presbyterian.ca/pwsd

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION & OUTREACH COMMITTEE

The CE/O and the Church School have taken on a new Outreach Project that has the support of Session.  Ghana Schools of Dreams, which is a registered charity, is our new project.  Our contact person is Dora Amie, a member of McNab Presbyterian Church.  Next Autumn, we hope to have Dora come to St. Paul's to talk with the Sunday School children and the congregation.  The proceeds of our Muffin Sundays and the children's givings will go toward making up our monthly contribution to this project.  There will be more information available in the coming months.

CRIEFF HILLS COMMUNITY
Crieff Hills Community is a Retreat and Conference centre located on 250 acres of land west of Crieff, Ontario, a small village off highway 6 between Hamilton and Guelph.  The land was gifted to the Presbyterian Church of Canada in 1950 by Col. John Bayne Maclean, founder of "Maclean's" magazine.  He is the son of the first minister of Knox Church, Crieff.

The community of Crieff launched a building campaign a year ago hoping to raise $600,000 to enlarge and upgrade the facilities which are used by 6,000 people each year.  Keep watch for more information regarding Crieff in the weeks ahead.
